The Horizon Chair is a collaboration with Fritz Hansen as part of 7 Architects x Series 7 in Singapore, in which we were tasked to create our own interpretation of the iconic Series 7 Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen.We wanted to create a version of the Series 7 Chair that is designed for moments of inspiration, introspection and epiphany ; to create a space for the mind to see further and to have visions beyond the horizon. We achieve this by keeping the basic form and construction of the Model 3107, and playing with the standard proportion of the chair by extending the legs and incorporating rungs of ladder to the frame, in effect creating a really tall version of the chair which allows the user to climb up and perch him or herself high above in solitude.
